NSVFA Fire School
May 15-17, 2026
Welcome to the 89th Annual Nebraska State Fire School, hosted by the Nebraska State Volunteer Firefighters Association and Fire School Committee. This year’s event features 28 classes covering fire operations, investigation, rescue, leadership, officer training, fire prevention, and EMS, held at the Heartland Event Center and surrounding State Fair facilities in Grand Island. Attendees are encouraged to preregister early, as some classes have limited capacity, and departments are encouraged to send members to different classes to maximize training benefits. Participants are also invited to attend the opening ceremony on Friday, May 15 at 9:00 a.m. The committee thanks all who support and participate in making Fire School a success and looks forward to another rewarding training experience.
CLASS CERTIFICATION: Students should make every attempt to attend the 12 hours of instruction provided for most classes and, unless otherwise indicated in the class description, must attend no less than 9 hours to receive a letter of certification which will be mailed to the student’s fire department.
