Firefighter cancer information
Firefighter cancer is a real and present danger! NSVFA has and will continue to offer departments and individual firefighters resources in the fight against this scourge on the fire service.
Since first being recognized as a serious hazard in the late 1980's both the spread of, and the research for, prevention and treatments of FF cancer have grown significantly. To the right are just some of the resources that are available to help you and your department combat the very real danger FF cancer poses to you, your family and your community.
In addition, the Nebraska State Fire Marshal's Office - Training Division offers a great course on research, prevention and response to firefighter cancer. Contact Alan Joos at;
